No arguement.. Im just saying what I know.. I really dont give a crap if anyone tries it or not.. I just know it works on a bad carbon situation.. Period.. commas, and all

This is too funny, not to digress but my brand new Lawn Mower Yard Machine with 158cc Briggs Stratton engine is dieseling. It keeps running even 10 seconds after shut-off, so I will watch this thread with interest LMAO!!!

Well, this has nothing to do with it, but I do know small engines pretty well, so I'll chime in
Newer Briggs & Stratton engines are crap, no way around it. My dad owned a John Deere used every week for 20 years before it finally died. I've used our pressure washer all of 10 times, and it is nearly impossible to start, and barfs out a cloud of oil and smoke when it finally gets going. A brand new engine shouldn't do that, I'm very disappointed.
You can probably adjust the main fuel jet for the carb...usually there is a screw on the bottom of the carburator for this; while the other on top is the idle air adjustment. It's still running because it's still letting in fuel.
Tighten both screws all the way up, then back them out a turn and a half. Go to full throttle, and start it, then back the main fuel jet knob off until the engine sounds about right.
The idle air screw is adjusted in about the same way, back it off to the point where the engine can stay running at the lowest throttle setting.

LOL! I didn't mean to offend but I guess I did. ... It's OK though, I got over it! hehehecn90 wrote:This is too funny, not to digress but my brand new Lawn Mower Yard Machine with 158cc Briggs Stratton engine is dieseling. Point is there are other considerations w/a FI engine. The old carb engines were a different beast.
The mans premice (SP) is totaly correct as regards the carbon issue. It works really well.
Briggs & Stratton ... Yeah! Famous for run on with the magneto ignitions but for some reason they last & last & last ...
Besides ... I have read a bunch of your posts & learned some from them so I know you already know this stuff! hehehe
I guess I just have to laugh too.
