That is not what Volvo Of Los Angeles told me just 3 weeks ago. They said they have never heard if any recalls on the 850.

I repaired the tank but I feel cheated by them.

Call Volvo with your VIN handy. They are (at least in my experience) very helpful.

hey man just got mine done today in Watertown, Connecticut i got a 94 850 turbo wagon i guess what they do is they go through all the registered 850's at the DMV and send out notices for the recall. And they put bushings on the heat attachment i guess its like 4 flange nuts and 4 rubber bushing or something.

Does any1 else no of any recalls for the 850's?

Hey I also bought my 850 from a private party and got a notice in the mail for a service recall on the fuel tank heat shield replacement. My problem is I dont know where is a certified volvo repair center in the North Atlanta area is? Do I just go to a volvo dealer like Dyer & Dyer?

Had mine done last year, but just yesterday receive a letter from Volvo stating they had no record of mine being done and I should take it to the dealer ASAP to have the recall performed . So recall must still open

yea any volvo dealer is good. i would call them first and set up an apointment, so you no they will be available to do the car. Im sure you can probably just go in to any dealer with the letter and you would probably be all set.

I called Volvo usa today find out about the recall and if my car was eligible. They told me that the recall had already been performed on my car (by the previous owner) and the bushings were replaced. The problem is my gas tank wont hold more than 15 gallons without leaking, and I can smell gas from inside my car, does anyone know if they will replace the cracked tank even though the recall had already been performed?

It's 2014 and I purchased a 1995 Volvo 850 GLT and I actually have an appt tomorrow afternoon for the recall part to be replaced. Call your local dealer and verify if you still can bring your vehicle in.

My fuel tank has just started dripping pretty good. From looking up under the car, it looks like on of the top bolts holding the heat shield on to the tank is leaking. I looked up the recall and it seems that it was extended to the end of 2009. I am hoping that it was extended further, does anyone know? I will have to give a call to Volvo Monday and see what happens.

If the recall has expired, does anyone have an idea on what I should do? The tank is plastic, so I am assuming that it cracked where the bolt connects. JBWeld maybe?[/quote]

I dunno for sure if it expired. but if they gave you an appointment then you're probably gonna get it done. why would they make you come all the way down. They can look any information up about recalls over there computer. So you obviously went to the appointment by now. So what happened? If i remember right i think it said it causes a leak that could start a fire, But not sure i would have to pull up the recall notice, But i also think it said if its leaky they will fix the tank and put the bushings. If it is not leaking they will just put the bushings.
