1993 850 runs for 20 minutes then dies, often while turning
We have done everything suggested .. we have changed both the fuel filter and the pump. Removed relays and jumped them .. relays are still good. Really very confused .. it runs for about 20 minuted and just quits. Takes a few minutes for it to start again, and even then it seems to want to quit, sometimes even turning a corner makes it quit...

MAF is a mass air flow sensor. It regulates air:fuel mixture so has control over the fuel supply. The way to test it is to unhook it, and see if the symptom goes away.
When you disconnect the MAF the car will go into a default mode and still run OK, although it may smoke a little and long term it would be bad for the engine to not have a MAF. Disconnecting the MAF will also cause the Check Engine light to turn on, because there is no MAF. So you would have to reset that MAF code using an OBD2 code reader, or by going to Autozone where I am told they read and reset codes for free.

Does your Check Engine light come on at all, even with the key in position II?
If not it may be that the lamp has either been removed or it has been on so long that it burned out.
At any rate, you need to check for error codes on ports A-2 and A-6.
It is quite easy to do, here is how:
http://volvospeed.com/CheckEngine.php
Once you jot down the codes post them back and we can start to narrow things down. Your '93 has no OBD-II port and the auto parts store guys will just give you a blank stare if you ask them to check the codes. That is actually a blessing in that the OBD-I codes are actually more accurate than the OBD-II codes.
You can also turn off your service engine light via port A-7.
Press the button 4 times in about 3/4 to 1 second intervals.
Wait for the LED to come back on.
Press the button once and wait for the LED.
Press the button 5 times in the same approximate cadence as above and wait for the LED.
Press the button once.
At that point the LED should rapidly blink and the service light will be reset.
