Many/most 93 parts do not fit on 94s and newer
Yup, I am painfully aware of what it takes to find '93 parts. So in a sense, they can be valuable. But it was sort of a labor of love. And the character of the 1993 Volvo 850 GLT, now lives in my memories.

If she was really texting, SUE. You'd sue if it were a drunk driver right? Texting while driving is as bad as drunk driving maybe worse. I don't know if you can sue if you weren't insured but a lawyer (or some on-line resources) may be able to give you a heads-up. Even if you had insurance they would total it and then they own the car. This hurts a lot, been there, done that. Sorry :-(

No one could tell what a young girl was thinking, or doing for sure. I was only summizing the reasons for her actions. In the end, it did alter, the Alter I.

Ben, I would not count on anything on a '93 850 being worth anything. That was the intro 850 and most people are getting away from them. Now if you want a 850 that may have some value get a T-5R, R or Platinum.

Is her insruance company going to pay for your car?

I know. And I do understand.

It is what it is.

I'll get over it, I just want a new puppy.

Insurance will not be made an issue.

I do understand what the '93 is. There was a sense of accomplshment when it looked, and ran as it did.

Give me a puppy, I must grieve.

Thanks again folks for the help, and awesome informatives. I have learned so much from the forum. Hopefully, I may have also been of some help. Thank you so much Matthew, and keep up the good work/fun.

My experiece with this very individual vehicle took me back to a younger time, when learning the nuts and bolts of a '69 Camaro, while attempting to stuff a 482 big block into it with minimal tools, and cashflow. I have a new appreciation for this cool Swedish car. I only weep for Saab. That would be a different story.

Are you going to part the car out for sure? or try to sell it as a bulk? I'm interested in a few parts, based on compatibility, but thats up to you.
Speed has never killed anyone, suddenly becoming stationary... That's what gets you.

To be honest, I'll be leaving it at the tow yard. They are opportunistic thieves, and it will be over 400. to get it out. It would not be wouth the hassle, or the cash. I have no place to part it out, and that would be the only way to recoup the expense of getting it back. So it will probably end up at a scrap yard near Detroit somewhere. Probably the one where I found most of its parts.
Just a side note, it angers me that the towing company that gets a city towing contract can make its own rules on what to charge, while holding a car that was in an accident hostage. I think I am in the wrong business, but then again, I have a conscience.

Image[/img]Image[/img]Image[/img]Update on the car. I was able to get some items from it and take some pictures at the tow yard. It took a court order from a judge to get access to even see it. They have been adding 20.00 per day since the accident, and the cost is around 1,200. now. They will have to make a deal if they want any money other than the original towing fees and a reasonable lot fee. This particular company is known to tow cars for the city and charge outragious fees. I may make an offer on monday because it really does seem repairable now that I have seen it. I'll try to upload a couple shots.
Sorry about these, I will have to resize them and try again, But the left front is the damage.(drivers U.S.)
