What year did Volvo ditch the GM tranny in the T6 XC90

A mid-size luxury crossover SUV, the Volvo XC90 made its debut in 2002 at the Detroit Motor Show. Recognized for its safety, practicality, and comfort, the XC90 is a popular vehicle around the world. The XC90 proved to be very popular, and very good for Volvo's sales numbers, since its introduction in model year 2003 (North America). P2 platform.

Hadn't read it in a while, but I remember it being an interesting thread. If I could find a T6 with an upgraded and stronger transmission, I would be interested. Like I said before, I think the T6 is a good engine for the XC90.

Yeah we have the same transmission in the S80 so I'm somewhat familiar with it. Trying to get away from working on my cars as much as I do.
'04 XC90 2.5T AWD (Angus) 134K.
'99 S80 T6 (Medusa) 214k. On borrowed time LOL
'98 V70 T5 (Vivienne). RIP @ 228K. Spun rod bearings.

Might look at some V8s too. Mmmmm torquey.
