97 855r 137k $5k obo
Re: 97 855r 137k $5k obo
You are causing me to lose sleep. Been planning to sink about $3k into my 855t when my tax refund arrives. Then, a week ago your ad popped up on Chicago CL and my plan turned to buying your R and selling my 855t if your R was still unsold. I now flip-flop between these two plans several times a day. It keeps me awake at night. Questions: will it pass emissions? Was the timing belt done at 70k and again more recently or just at 70k?

It should pass emissions, I work at a shop that builds track cars, I'll see what the techs say. The t-belt was done at 70K by Sullivan - Parkhill Volvo M-B in Champaign,IL. The T-belt was done at 135k at Midwest Performance Car, in Chicago, IL.
Sorry for all the questions, but I need to be sure. Do the following work properly: air con, seat heaters, power seats, electronic climate control. Is there a CEL? If you still have it in a couple weeks when my refund shows I'm thinking it'll be a done deal. Oh yeah, does the sunroof seal properly? Thanks. Sweet R. Hope it lasts 'til I can get it.

Seat Heaters - Yes both of them
Power Seats - Yes Both of them
ECC - Yes
No check engine lights
Moon roof - works like it should and seals like it should.
I'll give you a run down on what isn't 100%
Remote needs to be reset it works but it is just easier to unlock the car with the key
The second key is probably original and is the one I use as a back up
the drivers window regulator needs to be looked at, it rolls up and down just fine, but when rolled all the way down there is still maybe a half inch or so of window sticking up. I might sort this out on Saturday.
parking related scratches in rear bumper
trim needs to have Vaseline rubbed into it when it gets warm (or back to black, or paint it) the trim has sun faded to grey.
The dash has a very minor crack in the "corner" (maybe >1.25" long), I'll post a pic. Other dash things are that it isn't as flush as it would have been new, near the center vent (I guess most 850's are like this) it isn't noticeable unless you are looking for it.
The window shades have their clips broken. I have both clips, and was going to epoxy them back on. But too many people hop in and play with them that further damage would have accrued so I just put the clips in the center council.
The steering wheel is dirty. not anything horrid but when I take the car in to get detailed next week I'm going to have them clean it.
That's about it. I you are sure you want it I might be up near Appleton, Wi in a couple of weeks if you want to see it in the flesh.

Thanks, you made me an offer so you really didn't pass on it. Quite a bit of work has been done since then. And if you are not interested in taking another look you need to act like an adult and stay out of my deal. I'd expect any interested party to examine the car or have it looked over by a mechanic.
