Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

So all I need to do is put the key in the driver side door, unlock the car, lock it, and unlock it again?

Currently the car only has the "Alarm System Requires Service" indication on the message center of the dash board. There are no Check Engine Lights on. Is there any other way to reset the UEM?

I only ask because my girlfriends 1999 S80 has a working sunroof. I'm convinced the problem happened because the car battery was completely dead and was switched out, not be because of the siren system.

There would not be (provided that the car is healthy otherwise). UEM comm faults by themselves will not trigger MIL (Malfunction Indicator or Check Engine Light).

The right way of resetting is to clear the codes with VIDA after addressing the problem that causes them to be set (the rule applies to all kinds of fault codes).

As of now, it appears that the DIM message is telling you to look at the alarm system, yes?
If you want to second-guess the DIM, you can still do it with VIDA

Thanks
Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.
