Yeah, white would be coolant. But the original post describes the symptom as a "puff of blue smoke."

They can look similar, but your nose will tell the difference immediately

White smoke could also be oil leaking into the exhaust side of the turbo without being burned.

Easy to tell if the car has been using coolant.
