Does anyone have any input on the OBDII codes I've posted in regards to some of the issues I'm experiencing?

How long ago did you purchase the car?

How many miles have you driven the car?

What brand spark plug wires did you install on the car?

What brand and type of spark plugs did you install on the car?

How many miles do you have on the car?

Have you done the PCV dip stick smoke test?

Have you checked to see if the flame trap is clogged?

Corey - quick review of your codes. All the misfire codes tell you what you know already - the car isnt running right. The TOO RICH code is probably also being thrown because of the misfiring.

That leaves the EVAP code - which is probably a deteriorated hose in the fuel evap system, which is messing up your cars running.

Search the forum for EVAP system evaluation and run through that.

Thanks @abscate, I'll certainly search the forums for evap help. A new development has come to surface in the last few days. The car seems to be running worse. Getting a lot of bogging and fuel smell with sporadic idle. It's drivable if I unplug the MAF but still doesn't run very well. If I leave the MAF in, the car runs, but it bogs and if I give it gas it does nothing and eventually conks out. Starting to be more trouble than it's worth.

As I was connecting and disconnecting the MAF with the car running I noticed that with the MAF plugged in, if I disturb the connection of the wires to the connector itself I can cause the car to bog down and lose idle. Could this be a connector issue and not the MAF itself?

I would say you have a good lead to the problem!! Intermittant wires will drive this finely balanced machine crazy.!!!!!

Not sure if I'm using the correct terminology in my search but what would that replacement part be called? ECU to MAF sensor connector? Can't seem to locate a replacement wire bundle and connector

Your codes suggest foremost a bad MAF or a vacuum leak. I'd exhaust those two possibilities first. I don't think the evap system is much of an issue; I expect you will get this cleared up then you can move on to burning a bunch of time hunting down the evap demons and getting rid of the 442 code.

The MAF connector is a known weak spot. Check this out: http://volvospeed.com/volvo_repairs_how ... ensor.html

If you can pull a Bosch MAF from a junkyard, swapping is a good test especially given the engine behavior you described and if the connector doesn't seem to be the problem. Or get someone to sell you a used, known working one. They usually go for about $45.

Great info guys, thanks a bunch. Does anyone know of a diagram that illustrates the vacuum lines on this model? It's all spaghetti to me when I try and find them myself. Thanks again for all of the help guys!
