What do you believe is the best instrument/tool I should use to get around the bend in the lower port? Thanks!!!!!!jblackburn wrote:Something like SeaFoam may help clean out that lower port, but really, the best thing is just to scrape it out and make sure it's clean around the bend as well.
Make sure to change the oil if you use SeaFoam.

Sweet, this will make life a lot better!!!!!jblackburn wrote:The two big bolts - dipstick and the bracket that holds the intake manifold down - need to be removed entirely. They're a pain to get to.
Get a box-end ratcheting wrench.
It will make your life 23489723423x easier than trying to get socket wrenches with a billion extensions up in there to reach that.

In all actuality if it wasn't for the magnificent write ups on the PCV repair by jblackburn and others I would be totally blind to the root of my car problems and definitely how to fix them!!!!!!!!!!!

Justin, he was asking about the EGR tube that connects under the manifold. It is one large nut that attaches under there. Then take the intake TOTALLY off so you can check the rest of the EGR posts and things that attach to it. So, you will need to TOTALLY remove the fuel rail. You may or may NOT want to get new seals for the fuel injectors, at any rate, DO NOT LOOSE any of the fuel injector seals that go into the manifold.
You may also want to order a THROTTLE BODY gasket and there is also an EGR gasket that you may want to get. They are both very cheap and small.
