To clarify, uship.com is a brokerage to shippers, not a shipping company

It is like a shell game. I received a dozen calls with quotes, upon follow up it quickly became a mountain of variables, not just three, with no clear picture of cost and delivery.abscate wrote:To clarify, uship.com is a brokerage to shippers, not a shipping company
1st, it was the pick-up cost, loading car on to the truck $100 - 300, it too was changing with each call/quote.

Brokers won't leave me alone.
The best they can do is $615. I must accept the offer for them to line up delivery time.
$275 cash at pick-up with truck with bells and whistles to put this car on. It will require them to rearrange full trailer with many cars already on.
Further it makes "sky falling on me", they say...a big job for just one car! a very busy holiday for some reason! trucks do not pick-up from hotel parking lot! other are offering more money than you (as they look at the board)! trucks are busy through the end of January! IDOT has raised fee (it could almost double after Dec 31st)! diesel is more expensive! winter, blizzard, weather, bad roads, and holiday traffic prevents them from committing a date! finally, don't be swindled by low balling, i am real! O'boy!

Wow! Didn't realize it was that crazy. From what I read and understood is that you can set an limit to what you are willing to pay and if they bid below that, you accept and they have to get the vehicle from point A to point B for that bid amount. You may be better off just renting a UHaul truck and a flat bed and moving it yourself.
I had a car shipped to me once for $250 by a car moving guy, not through Uship. It was about 220 miles.

You should only use someone with many, many good reviews on uship. I've moved many boats with this, really cheaply.
