My car just had a supremely tough start this morning it would not fire(P0089 code again). I got it going eventually... this has to be the PEM(I hope); ordering Monday morning will post an update then.

Here's a question for you gurus; I was capturing some live data from my car today and noticed the fuel pressure always stays around 44-45 PSI regardless of engine load, is this correct or an indication of a problem? Thanks again! XeModeX PEM enroute nonetheless.

As always, thank you!

And you had no problems before the fuel pump was replaced?
Hmmm suspicious say I.

Btw where is the fuel filter on these cars?

I had these problems before the pump was changed as well. Fuel filter is on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel; easy to see if you poke your head under.

Resolved itself a couple months ago, has not recurred. Looks like it was a bad fuel pump in the first place.

I'm chasing this same problem on my 2006 XC70. I've replaced the fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator at the rail. It's still throwing P0089.

Was your problem because the replacement Volvo fuel pump you had installed was defective?

Thanks.

This was a result of a faulty fuel pump PEM was fine, have had no issues in the past year.
