David,

I live in the Bay Area, near Stanford. Never have been to TN.
Around here, you see A LOT of Volvo's. Most are brand new, though. Mine is one of the 'oldies'.

Thanks for the new links. I will check out the hood latch link fix, from the Bay13 link you gave me.

I am not quite sure if this was acutally a VOLVO repair- shop, meaning I don't know if they specialize in Volvo. I might have just gone to the wrong place, (lol), and just got lucky! It was mainly a body shop, not auto repairs.

Again, I appreciate what you've done for me, I don't know what it is about taking a car to the shop...to me, it is akin to going to the dentist. No other way of explaining.

Oh, and I will sure be writing here again, as soon as I know when I am going to do the tune-up, I'll will be asking a few questions. I want to know what the avg price should be, and what all is involved. I've never been one to get under a car, but wish I could be...and know I could!

So, now for the smog check, which will run me at least 80, and then the DMV is now late, so this will be about another $200....so I guess it may be next month when I will be able to afford the tune-up, at least I didn't have to pay for an oil change because of the oil leak, it is all new oil now.

Best Regards,
Shannon

If you want to get the manual, go to my Home page and look for "Get Volvo Products" -- there's a few Amazon links. Click on any of them.

ANYTHING you put in your cart after clicking on that link, within 24 hours, I get 4% of. (If you buy it. You can wait a week or two to buy and I still get credit.)

Haynes 850 manual is $15.61.

So basically if you want to help me out, and you need stuff from Amazon, click my link!

Thanks!
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
