Whose white 850 wagon are you guys talking about? I didn't see anywhere the OP posted a pic or said his wagon is white. My wagon is sure not going anywhere. Sheesh, it must be Saturday night!

That is what I would do. Sell it and retain the money to purchase a turbo wagon that I wouldn't mind fixing up. You can likely get $800 from it, purchase a T5 or GLT and do the timing and a few other things on it.scot850 wrote:OR sell it on, and hopefully get some money to maintain the better other car...
I had a total of about $1,800 in this sedan but the same can be done with a wagon.

RV has repaired or helped me repair problems in both cars before he selfishly moved away. Lol
I have never replaced the timing belt but one has to start somewhere... Kind of like you have to start spinning the barrel during Russian roulette sometime! Radiator I can easily handle-- have replaced three in my Volvo career. Can't drop a subframe so there's $500 on the R&P plus the seal on the engine. $200 on parts for timing.
We're close to a thousand bucks already here with tires and still paint to finish the patch. On one hand, even if it took me months, what a great sense of satisfaction to learn and do the work and bring the car back from the ER. On the other hand, this is how cars end up on blocks in front yards with weeds growing around them.

Update: glad I didn't junk. Hit a deer in my S70 a week after last post. On the road to fix up for the 70. Only thing left now on the 850 are struts, rear engine seal and paint. Figure $800 before it's over (for this round).
