A fuel relay that looks brand new does not mean much. It is failure of the capacitors inside the relay. Search for "Ozark Lee's" post on relay repair.

OP, I too had this problem, but it was way more than just the relay!
Actually I thought it was the relay for the longest time. What was happening is the fuel filter was on its last leg. Since I do not own the proper equipment to diagnose a Integrated Circuit (IC) Relay, I just assumed that was it.
A couple weeks later the car cut off again. So I bit the bullet and replaced the fuel filter. It was a major PITA, but it solved my issues 100%.
Until 3-4 months later. This time it actually was the rotor inside of the spark cap. Everything else was new, but I'm guessing the previous mechanic that replaced all the wires did not own the special bits needed to replace the rotor (spark rotor). That thing was literally burnt from thousands of miles!
In the process, I replaced the wires 2 times, 2 filters, serval fuel relays, spark plugs....etc.
So, I recommend that if you do not know the history of your car, replace all the consumables. Do it once, do everything, and do it right.
Otherwise you might spend lots of pretty pennies like I did.

Thanks for the feedback. I bought this car used with ~170K miles on it and have barely any records (recent ones at least) for its repairs. I've just been replacing things as they break and doing the normal maintenance. I just ordered a fuel filter, good suggestion. The rotor and cap looked good last time I opened it up, but then again, I have no idea what it would look like if it wasn't good.
Next major thing is the timing belt and water pump.
