I was in a similar position when I bought mine. Found this R with 14k miles from private party. Had the guy run a Carfax which showed car was last serviced at 60k miles??? So I'd try getting a Carfax and look for inconsistentcies. If looks good I'd buy it. Any Volvo maintenance is expensive, and if you do some of the work it'll work out.
