Did anyone tried Auto-rx?

I though I will give you guys an update.
1000 Mile on ARX, I haven't observed any positive change,

I did observed lot of peculiar things which may or may not be due to ARX
1) many times when i turn over key, engine cranks but does not start,
2) Some hoses have suddenly become very soft, previously they were brittle almost as if someone has thrown week acid on them.
3) Gas mileage is down the drain (17-18mpg)
4) I had put in a new plastic flame trap about 500miles ago, that got melted, now I have put in metal flame trap.

Maybe after you complete the rinse phase your results will change?

I've never used Auto-RX so I can not speak of any first hand experience but I doubt it caused any of the problems you are seeing.

I'd love to believe this stuff works as stated but I'm a little leary of home brewed cocktails even with a patent. I find it hard to believe a Fortune 1000 company wouldn't buy the patent for this stuff if it truly worked wonders. Surely the owner inventor "Frank" would stand to make millions, kind of like a cancer cure for engines.

I'd like to see a few scientific studies. How about having Consumer Reports do a study? I'd like to see concrete numbers, pics, compression tests etc from an unbiased, non-placebo source. If it works as claimed it would be a windfall for the inventor. If fails to cut the mustard the whole internet craze for this stuff is done, stick a fork in it, ie Slick 50, Prolong

Aren't you supposed to do a LOF after 1000 miles to "rinse" it out or something like that?

I wanted it to work soo badly. I was hoping it cures my gas milage ills but I should have thought more.

BTW rinse phase starts after 1500miles. May be miracle happens after that !!!

If your mileage is really poor you propbaly have a mechanically linked problem that nothing in any bottle will solve. Do a complete tune up, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, complete PCV valve clean / replacement, check for vacuum leaks, do a Seafoam treatment, 1 bottle in the gas tank & 1 bottle sucked thru the vacuum tree, do NOT put in the crankcase. Check for o2 sensor codes. O2 sensors can cause poor mileage.
How is the temp? Open thermostat could cause rich condition burning more fuel.

I'm thinking that the hardle brittle hoses got fubarred with the AutoRx and now you're living with the consequences of this. Hard and brittle will eventually become powerder and cause the same or similar issues. Change your hoses....never heard of AutoRx causing any engine issues. I think once the maintenance is done on your car you'll appreciate the Rx treatment...well, at least I hope so.

Looks like pretty much all hoses & rubber L Joints need change.
Is there any kit available on FCP ?

Yes, but you might want to go for the silicone hoses like I did...actually much cheaper. check out www.stylinmotors.com I just bought the standard vacuum hose kit and that was enough to do my whole car. Buy the standard $29.95 kit for your 850. I also bought the turbo hoses and T-bolt clamps and love them too but that's another story and not part of your issue.
