Key programming transponder chip

Hi Guys,
It's me again it is damp and miserable here in England never stops raining wettest year on record!
Is it possible to buy a after market key fob and programme it myself with existing fob which works fine? And can anyone recommend a unit hopefully that doesn't cost an arm&leg to achieve success?

Package codes needed for a fob programming. Not for a key.

Apologies for resurrecting a long dead thread, but this seems to keep coming up.

For my 2006 S60, I just ordered a valet key blank, a switchblade key blank, and a new remote that clips onto the switchblade key, from a nearby stealership (that had the sense to call and make sure I knew what I was getting into.)

Only the remote had a sticker with code-looking stuff on it, including a giant 2D barcode. The keys had only the usual parts department stickers that everything from washer nozzles to, err, washers, would also have.

I feel safe assuming that, although the stealership surely ripped me off on price, they did not rip me off on product delivery.
