Changing my timing belt

To release the serpintine belt tensioner you need a 3/4 inch breaker or something like it. I use a 1/2 to 3/4 inch adapter and some folks have just fabricated a tool rather than buy a 3/4 inch breaker bar.

I went to Lowes and picked up a 3/4 piece of bar stock, about $7, cut off about and 1 1/2" and used a 3/4 wrench on the bar stock. Worked well, but I had to file off a tiny amount from the bar stock so it would slip into the tensioner square.
