"You need to do two more drain and fills ASAP."

I thought we were supposed to drive around for a bit between the drain and fills, to allow the old and new fluid to mix completely.
If this is not the case, what is the suggested process in terms of what happens between drain-and-fills?

Well- here's the thing- some of us are going to disagree with you. Also on the counter "having to be reset." I disagree. If one does not have VIDA, no need to reset the counter- no need to go to the dealer to pay and have it done either- once again, just my opinion.
The main thing here is to get most of the bad fluid out and do it in a way that is not disruptive to the transmission.
The controversy surrounds whether or not the "Gibbon's Method" is more disruptive than several simple drain and fills done over time.
At the miles on this vehicle, I would err on the side of doing several drain and fills.

I know your opinion differs and no matter what I or anyone else says, you won't agree with this but I felt that I needed to give my opinion here.

Gibbon won't dislodge anything, it is perfectly safe at any mileage - in my own opinion - because it does nothing else but circulate the oil the exact way it does at any moment the engine is running.

Here's my take on Gibbon vs 'drain and refill'

Gibbon's
- replaces all fluid at once if needed OR can be used to replace any amount of fluid at once (just like the drain and refill method). It is a little risky on the hose o-rings and clip but these can be replaced and once new can be reused multiple times
- no need to jack the car and slide underneath - no such mess as dripping oil on the garage floor
- it takes 13-15L to completely replace the old fluid in one step or can be used to replace any exact amount of oil at once - 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 liters and so on

Drain and refill
- the only way to clean and inspect metal particles stuck on the magnetic drain plug
- car is safely jacked with jack stands (hopefully no owner will slide underneath a car lifted on the spare jack), the pan plug comes out, oil is drained in a pan, messy, plug goes back in, transmission is refilled and engine runs for a while, then either same day or weeks later the car is jacked again, plug out and repeat the whole thing.

Now on serious note- maybe I'm old school about the drain and fill over a "flush." Maybe the Gibbon's method is okay but I haven't been convinced. I suppose it's because of the amount that is done at once...I've done the Gibbon's method. In fact, before it was even called that, I posted pictures on this forum of pretty much the exact same method. It could have been called the MIJ method in my opinion (check the dates of my method in the write up section vs. the Gibbon's). I just believe (and this is my personal belief) that a total replacement of fluid at once on a Volvo auto slush box which has never had this done or hardly ever had it done which is now at high miles can be detrimental. I read many such stories (of failing trannies) during the time that we were proposing such a "flush," and people started going with the "drain and flush" over a period of time/miles. Of course, the tranny could have been on the way out anyway on these cars. It is hard to say...but drain a little- fill it up and drive and see how it goes seems much more conservative and I hardly ever read of a detrimental impact of doing this to these trannies than the "full flush" method. Now, if you're talking about only doing a few quarts at a time by way of the Gibbon's and drive and see how it goes before doing it again, I'll buy that.
