Broken Timing Belt Help

I can´t say for the Volvo interference Motors, but years ago I bought a 95 Civic with a VTEC (great Motor, btw) which is interfering and the timing belt had snapped at idle (that´s why it was sold dirt cheap) and I just put a new belt on and it ran just fine. I know, not very likely, but it can work.

Abscate, it happened to my vtec, so don't be surprised if you have to sell a boat of yours to pay for your future hair dresser's bills...

I think we have had a couple if people who survived a TB break at idle here?

Does one test by replacing belt then trying a compression test? What if the valves are bent...will they stick down and hit the Pistons ?

The bad thing about a timing belt break, which I believe is like high blood pressure, a silent killer... is that after it breaks, people finish the engine off by trying to start the car, like 30 times. lol
