I believe OEM for the MAF sensor is Bosch.
I think that if the engine dies, the issue is separate from the MAF sensor. Clean that IACV out, I bet that'll fix your problem. From what I can tell, the ECU goes into some kind of "open loop" condition when the MAF is unplugged. If the engine won't run in that "open loop" condition, there is something else causing a problem (like the IACV).

Hello, I'm in quite a bad spot. I put in the new spark plugs after cleaning a lot of sensors and checking vaccum hoses. now the car wont even start, it started before but would stall occasionally coming to stops. it won't turn over at all.
The spark plugs I put in were volvo part number 8642660-VOL, under 1994 volvo 850 at pelican parts. They were three pronged, identical to the ones that I took out of the car. I'm reading tutorials and they all use single prong which require gapping.. if these are the wrong ones then why did it run like a champ on three pronged plugs? I just took the old ones out and put the new ones straight in tightly ( order doesn't matter do they?).
Before I put the spark plugs in, I removed the whole airbox so I could get a good look at all the sensors. I disconnected each one, cleaned them with an electrical spray. then I removed the vaccum elbow and its attached lines to clean them, using a microfiber rag and some throttle body cleaner. then I cleaned the IAC out thoroughly with throttle body cleaner. connected it and its lines back up properly.
The codes i'm pulling are the sames ones I had in the beginning: A2 121 MAF sensor signal, and 223 IAC valve opening signal. should I clear the codes and check again?
I even tried generous amounts starting fluid into the plastic funnel before the airbox; nothing. Checked the battery. 11.4 volts.
Leaving all of the sensors disconnected overnight to maybe dry some residual cleaner.
WHAT DO I DO

11.4 volts seems low.
Do you know if the firing order is right? Are all the wires connected all the way?
Try clearing the codes and see what happens.

11.9v is DISCHARGED battery.
Fully charged battery have 12.7v.
You can't even crank it with 11.4v.

My last battery liked to hang around 11 volts. The car didn't even want to try to start with it.

it was the battery - charged it for a little while and it started right up. can't believe it was such an easy fix.
in terms of stalling, I have not replicated the problem since changing the plugs, cleaning the sensors, cleaning the IAC and MAF,fixing some vaccum leaks, and replacing the fuel pump relay. I wish I knew which one specifically caused the problem, but hey at least its gone.
thank you everyone!
