Anyone brave enough to want to tackle the fuel pump on this? I know there are a lot of lovers of saffron 98 V70R's out there.

Car is listed on Craigslist in Chokia Minnesota. Bit high for a AWD with bad fuel pump at $2300, but it is a saffron and body looks mostly ok.

Don't believe the C70 ever came in 'R' version, only in HPT engine as the top of the line. There is one I posted on MVS local to me that came from US that claimed it was an 'R' but someone had just stuck a badge on it.

The last several like 2012 era of the C70 the Inscription package was the top option and Polestar tuned power train was available at a extra cost. I thought about a C70 many times over the years and would have ordered it with both.

The earlier version just had the 2.3 hpt with auto or 5 speed as options with no name like R or Inscription. I had many lady friends who had them and I always looked year after year. By the first 1998 C70 I saw I had a toddler and it was impractical so I ended up with V70. June

1997 LPT wagon, manual gear awd, rare option.
Obviously the price is too high considering that it have a bad engine, but there is a chance that the owner will accept a more reasonable offer.

I looked at this car today. I wouldn't take it if they gave it to me for free.

It's actually a MY 2000, not 1999 as listed.

Body/Interior:
The interior is destroyed and has been smoked in heavily.
The wheels all have curb rash, 2 of them quite serious.
Every angle of the car that is not photographed in the listing--surprise!--has major gouges and paint damage.
No front or rear spoiler.
Front bumper cover is cracked and missing parts.
Hood latch broken and hood is bent.
U-haul trailer hitch installed
Rear hatch is misaligned and does not latch properly.
Family of giant cockroaches living in the spare tire well, which holds 1-2" of rusty water.

Mechanical:
[Note- I didn't bother driving it.]
Very old, caked on (i.e., ignored and untreated) oil leak from turbo.
Dipstick broken off inside the tube. It smokes heavily from tube.
Lots of tappet noise. Possibly some bottom-end noise as well.
No dipstick present for the transmission. It may have been broken off/removed and plugged off at the transmission case.
Brakes are worn down so far that it would likely be a challenge simply to remove the calipers from the lips formed on the rotors.
Maze of aquarium(!) tubing used to perform some sort of magic mod to the vacuum system.

Electrical:
Hack job performed on engine and body wiring harnesses.
Cheap Walmart-grade aftermarket stereo installed. Original stereo missing. Frightening tangle of wires visible through the gaping hole left after installing the single-DIN headunit.
All windows are stuck in the up position.
Seller has only 1 key.
