I think I have a major problem. My Volvo died 300k

You should get some decent warranty on an engine replacement to cover that possibility.

You are getting into the ballpark for a good used P2 car with 200k or so, though.

Tough call.

I'd part it out and get another.
I paid $2K for a 2004 V70 174K miles.
And turbo is more fun.
