Actually, I think my dealer is now offering lifetime warranty on parts. Unfortunately everything I've bought from them was before they started that.

Another thing I can add to this list are the oil cooler line o-rings and "cage" clips. I spend $26 on 4 o-rings for my lines last month. Almost 30 bucks for O-RINGS!!!!
Didn't replace the clips because I'm the king of zip ties, but those would have been another $15-$20. Pretty insane.

:D I was right!

You have to remember there is large setup costs to start a production line for something that has such low volume.

Toyota dealer wanted $30 for an axle seal for one of my other cars, aftermarket one is $1.39 retail. Bought the aftermarket one and had dinner with my lady with the change.

$1.39 for an axle seal, I would predict you will be spending a lot of money on transmission fluid pretty soon here.

Most of the parts are stupid expensive. Seen the price of OE O2 sensors? Simple repair bracket for the muffler on the 06 XC70? $110 CDN!

Best though are Toyota parts. Quoted $50 CDN for a muffler rubber support ring!! Aftermarket - $6! Parts guy tool pity and gave me a whopping $10 discount!

The strangest part is that a few parts I have looked at recently were cheaper in Canada from Volvo dealers than from US dealers and FCP.

As to the Volvo lifetime warranty? The kicker is only if they fit the parts!
