The main advantage of using leather care and conditioner products made especially for leather upholstery and car interior is that it creates a protective film which reduces friction.If you experienced easy sliding from the seats or furniture after using some of those products....that's it.That almost non-friction effect is saving our leather seats from everyday using & wear.
Some people think that using products which are softens the leather are prolonging their life.While it's true for wardrobe,it's NOT the case with upholstery and car seats.Products which are softens them are not protecting them,they speeds up the wear process.Those products are more suitable for leather jackets,coats,shoes but NOT for leather upholstery and car seats.

Seats are leather on seating surfaces and synth leather on sides and back. Magic eraser with no chemicals of any kind works great on vinyl door panels.

I don't think so. The seating surfaces are real leather, however the sides and backs are vinyl. You can tell from a close look at the texture, how the vinyl has a simulated leather texture while you can see the wear on the real leather.
I cut up an old seat cover for a color sample, and you can tell from the back of the pieces that there is a difference.
