Flashback...every car I owned in the 70s and 80s did this automatically , I guess they were ahead of the times?

FWIW Sidebar - With AW70L transmission, and less than 45mph, with foot off throttle, vehicle is coasting. With 1993-940, one can obtain 30-mpg city, if one can go with the flow.

My 2015 V60 has A/S/S and it is a finicky semi-worthless option with lots of caveats for it to work. I'm lucky if I get it to work once on a trip. Dealer's answer is a new battery. Lately after re-starting I get a power steering failure message, which is related to the asinine A/S/S. For me, it no longer has value, but I'm sure Volvo appreciates my beta testing... Lots of griping over at Swedespeed.
