So the total for all the parts I was going to get is 1200, the brakes needed some work too - I'm nervous to do all this to a car that has 315k on it - do you guys see S60s make it much further than that without an engine rebuild? It's not smoking or anything, it seems fine - but you know everything always fine until its not

That's Jorgen Automotive http://www.jorgenauto.com. I also had a rack rebuilt there about 5 years ago, it's doing great.

The engine could keep going but there are plenty of other things that will keep failing at these miles. My approach is to spend the least to keep the car save and if possible to have it getting decent mpg. Bringing such old car to a 'problem free' condition is, in my very personal opinion, a (large) waste of money in the end. Been there are learnt the lesson. Plenty of good used parts at scrap yards and Ebay, I usually search for original Volvo parts that have been recently replaced.

So I finally got this started and everything was going so well.... nowhere near as difficult as I was anticipating... and then i got to the last bolt holding it on - the one attached to the motor mount on the steering rack - the bolt broke, it sheered right below the head - i stopped working on it after that happened - from what i can see looking at picture of the motor mount, it looks like after i pull the rubber part of the motor mount off there should be plenty of bolt exposed, am i right in assuming i should be able to grab ahold of it with something and get it out? any advice?
