Not sure on the difference between these and the P2 S60 since there's a different engine, but all I needed was a long 3/8" extension and a wobble socket for the front lower mount's top nut and rear lower mounts bottom bolt. I believe they are 14 and 15mm.

The rear mount was a bit tricky.. In FCP Euro video, he just goes in and takes it out. With me, everything was just too crowded and I couldn't get the socket to seat squarely on the bolt. No extension, wobble joint, wobble socket etc. was helping. I had my lovely helper hold a pry bar against the sway bar to bend it towards the back of the vehicle half an inch or so.. Plenty of room then. A ratcheting wrench also sped up the rear's upper nut removal.

Another issue I had was that I could never seem to get the engine high enough to get everything out.. The front of the car was coming off the jack stands and I still didn't have the room. (Maybe this would be different with a lift vs jack stands) The front lower needed some persuasion with a rubber dead blow. With the rear, I just unbolted the aluminum bracket (3 bolts) that holds it to the engine/ transmission and took the whole thing out together.

Knowing what I know not, 1 hr job easily.. But that's usually the way it goes.

Hi there,

I need to do this myself.... could you possibly point me in the right direction for the mounts and bolts you got? Did you get them as a kit? I'm looking at FCPEuro...but can't find the bolts you mention.

Also do you feel the engine support bar was necessary, do you really drop the subframe? I have many jacks and stands but a support bar with be a further investment... maybe I can rent something...

Many thanks!
Rich

These are for my 08 3.2 xc90 (B6234S engine)

Volvo plays a lot of part number games, in some cases using multiple numbers for the same part, in other cases using different parts in the same model year based on the chassis serial number (part of the VIN). I did not see any variations in actual parts for the 08 3.2 xc90 mounts when I looked in VIDA, but I advise you to include your VIN in your orders and ask the vendor to check before they ship.

Hutchinson is OEM for these volvo mounts: can use all locations.

I bought my mounts at FCP and Iroll (the latter seems to be a Phoenix dealership that sells via Amazon). The a la carte pricing was less than any kit I saw.

2x 30778953 hydraulic mounts (round pads, one front, one rear)
1x 30793792 lower torque rod (left front lower) (old 30723374)
1x 30680708 upper right torque rod (next to coolant reservoir)
1x 30723914 lower right rear torque rod
1x 30793797 lower right engine pad

Bolts for lower right engine pad:
2x 988865 M12x50 (vertical to subframe)
2x 987985 M10x40 (horizontal to engine)

I have not yet replaced the lower right engine pad because of tight clearance and lack of desire to take out the RF axle. I have a plan to try a long 17mm flex-head ratcheting box wrench (TEKTON WRN77113) to get at the subframe bolts for this mount without disturbing the axle. Assuming that tool fits, I'll use a hanging scale to get the torque correct when installing the new mount. (Math required!)

The two torque rods are not supporting the weight of the engine, so I don't think the bar is necessary for their replacement.

I'm not qualified to say whether the support bar is necessary for the other mounts. Especially if you are getting under the engine, I guess it might be in the same category as "do you trust a jack?" It might be possible to borrow a support bar using the local auto parts store's loaner program.
