Well, I don't have anything recent, but the cars really haven't changed any since these were taken.
I copied them from my postings on another "Volvo friendly" website many years ago. I just don't take many photos.
The PV544 was when I got married in 1986.
The 220 photo was probably about 2012.
Still have them both

Sweet!! They're both beautiful. So nice you still have them. That dark green is my favorite 122 wagon color. So I see that has side marker lights and headrests - that was 1968 only? Is the early 140 seat the same as the late 122 seat?
Thanks for posting.

Thanks. They both had extended rests while were raising our family. Thankfully I've been able to hold on to them even when times were tight. I wish I had them out more often, but rebuilding the house after a tornado has taken all my spare time (which isn't much!) over the past few years.
My dad bought the 220 new just about 53 years ago (12-17-1967). I guess he was the inspiration for me getting the 544 in 1984.
You are correct that 1968 US models were required to have the side reflectors (not lights) and headrests. Also a double master cylinder, under dash pad, rubber knobs and other misc. features. It still has the original spare tire - I think it got used once or twice when my dad had it. No, the early 140 seats are not the same though they do look very similar. The headrest posts are wider on the 122 seats and I believe the upholstery patterns may have been different.
