One item that might present an issue is that a large number of the "clone" DICE units have the same serial number and Volvo may have blocked access for these regardless as to paid subscription. At least that's what I recall a couple of years back.

I'm interested as well in seeing how successful you are in making this work in the manner described above (attaching link sources directly is often better than re-posting partial post quotes, easier to get context from the source rather than trying to interpret second hand). Please let us know as you progress.

As a point of curiosity, if you're trying to simply upgrade the version of your modules, a service call at a dealer and a request to perform any needed software updates is part of Volvo Service 2.0. While it might not be of interest to you personally, the rest of the forum should be aware so as to ask whenever their cars are in for dealer service. Had had both my cars updated last year, think '05 was CCM, ECM, and maybe TCM, the '08 was ECM and CEM. No idea exactly what was updated, just that they were updated.
