PCV kit? Any thoughts on that? That's what they think it is

To check the PCV, do a glove test. If the glove sucks down it is a pass. If it sticks up like a rooster's crown its a fail. Make sure you tie down the glove with a zip tie or rubber bands to insure the glove does not get sucked into the engine.

The PCV box is a 5 minute job on that car. The box mounts to the the cylinder head top cover. You snap off the engine cover and it is the black cover taking up most of the back right of head. Several Torx bolts hold it on. The new one comes with rubber seal on the perimeter ready to bolt back on. I have not seen one with the head passages clogged and from experience it would take some seriously derelict maintenance to cause it to clog. If you kept oil changed on a decent schedule then your issue is age of the rubber diaphragm that regulates crankcase vapor flow. If it ruptures the crankcase gets full vacuum and honks (kazoo noise?) as it sucks through rear main seal, the alternator, and drive belt pulley seals.
