1. I would try to minimize the extent that the hose adapter projects on the inside of the air intake tube so that airflow is minimally impeded.
2. But more importantly, I had thought about using two nuts on the adapter thread to hold the adapter against the intake pipe wall from both sides (outside and inside, not across the whole pipe
I don't think I would even trust locktite to secure against this on the inside of the pipe. The risk and consequence is too high.
However, you could place a nut on the outside of the pipe to set the adapter position so that it projects into the pipe minimally. Use locktite to secure the nut's position, and the glue to hold the adapter against the pipe. As the pipe is at a lower pressure than atmosphere (in front of the turbo boost), there should be no air pressure to push the adapter out. Just try not to wiggle the hose attached to it much.
