I had a similar situation and started experimenting first with the control knobs. Try to put the middle knob that shows the person icon with the arrow pointing at it's feet (In the 6 o'clock position) and press the recirculating tab to the left so the light goes on. And make certain the fresh air wheel is rolled upwards.

This cured my situation. Hope this helps as i don't know if this will work for your car. But, worked on my 1997 850.

Actually I have determined that the damper motor is non-functional, and I have since ordered a replacement. The motor is over $150 new, so I scoured the junkyards online and found one for $35 plus shipping. Even if it only works for a couple of years, it's worth the savings.

That's good you found a solution. Wanted to ask where is the damper motor located? And what main function does this part do?

That information is at the beginning of this thread. It controls whether the cabin air is mostly fresh or recirculated. It is different in function from the dial to the left of the a/c controls, which just mixes fresh air into the center dash vents.

My climate control does not push air to the floor when the dial is set to the 6 oclock position or on auto. Everything else works fine, any ideas?

Thanks,
Craig
