Thanks, the immobilizer message was reported but wanted to confirm the scenario. Original battery in this car? OE from around this time should have a date-code stamp on one of the terminals.
Car thinks there more than just the immobilizer at fault based on your original post, sometimes an old battery will cause modules to act out. Anything out of the ordinary before things started going bad, anything at all that you can think of?
As others have mentioned, getting a Volvo centric code reader on this car will point you pretty quickly in the right direction.
