Just found oil in coolant and water in oil

Some one with great knowledge, on another post, mentioned that the upper cam cover has no coolant related function. Only oil. Put another way coolant problems are not related to the upper cam cover. The problems will be from a cracked head and below - most likely the head gasket. This all assumes your coolant issues are head related - not the cooler.

You need to follow abscate's tests, in the second post, to figure out if the coolant/oil issue is not the cooler.

For the oil in the spark plug wells, clean it all up really well and watch how you fill the oil (spills) and also check your oil fill cap gasket. This gasket can leak oil back on the upper cam cover. If it is old then change it. Then keep a keen eye on it to see if the o-rings under the upper cam cover are the culprit, as the oil will be back.
