Well i sent the CEM off to g7 computers in New York. Got it reinstalled today and still no spark. I didn't have much confidence in that so I'm not terribly disappointed. The previous owner had replaced the head gasket. Is there an obvious spot to check for a broken wire or one that's not properly connected? If the timing was not set right would that be the culprit? I would think it would still fire just not at the right time. I'm out of ideas. Could a faulty ECM be the cause? Is there any VIN specific info stored on an ecm that would prevent me from simply swapping in a new one?
Thanks
Kevin

Read a forum where a guy replaced the acceleration sensor? Not sure how that controls spark but anyway.

Well guys I stumbled onto a thread where people were talking about making sure the ECM was fully installed and latched in. Low and behold mine wasn’t. I removed the passenger headlight assembly and used a long flathead screw driver and push those blue tabs forward and she fired up. Thank you to all who responded.

Glad you got it sorted. Car repair 101 - check your work. In this case it wasn't your work.

Curious about what code reader you used on the car.

In the future, if you are not using VIDA always try the on board diagnostic which will check communication with a number of the modules. Too late now, but I would be curious if it would have revealed the problem.

Happy miles.
