The dogs spend about an hour each day licking him to welcome him back. I think they saw Abby and me crying over him so much they are trying to comfort us. He is eating and functioning well. He lost a lot of weight but we will try to pack that back on him

I pulled his sutures with vet help over FaceTime and he is doing well. He dropped about 15% of his weight but we have a nice rich food supplement for him to fatten him back up before winter. He is still a bit sleepier than usual, if that’s even possible.

Well, with heavy heart I had to drive him up to Saratogato say good bye. He took a sudden worse turnon a Thursday night, and this morning I knew we had run out of options.

Abby and I spent the afternoon holding him,he wasn’t up for much walking, but just purred andpurredand purred andfelt loved.

Sleep well my little Prince. 2009 abandoned under a deck in the dead of winter, to 2020 and cherished every minute

That's awful! Losing a fur baby is so hard. I really hoped he had overcame whatever was wrong. Be sure to give the other babies extra love! I'm so sad... June

I’m sad tonight but swaddled in 27 pounds of cat fur Babies And 60 pounds of Husky Lab at my side. I have much to remember well from my little Gray one.

I love how he used to commandeer the huge dog bed

Ona really solemn note, Peter and I are the only surviving males inthe house, so I’ll have the Brain twice as often !

How did you get the cat to tolerate the cone?

My cat scraped its head open somehow last week and it wont heal because every few days it scratches the almost healed scab off.

I bought a cone and put it on her and she lost her mind she is very upset.

Did your cat calm down after a while? Is it better to leave the cat alone with the cone on or have it nearby?

So sorry to hear this news Abscate. I've rarely ventured to this part of the forum.

We also have a beloved Russian Blue, Olive. She and Milo the Orange share the household - mostly - on good terms, and tolerate my son's Wire-Hair Griffon who visits often. Nice to see your dogs relationship with the cat.
