What does the Wendy's being burned down a day ago have to do with games and rules? CHAZ is working out well, do you want to join the conversation and defund the police in your neighborhood? Who do you want patrolling your neighborhood?
Born in Taiwan to a mainlander Father who fled the communist and spent 20 years in the military I am considered an Outer Provincer in Taiwan but I was too young to understand. I'm glad I have not visited Taiwan since leaving in 71. The first school in CA was predominately white and don't remember seeing blacks. In 72 we moved to SF and we got the same racial treatment from blacks. Brother brought a knife due to the daily bulling especially in the bathroom. The principal called me in and I told him we try to go the restroom together or else we would have to defend ourselves alone. Being the knife couldn't slice water and had no point he sympathized with us. When Bruce Lee was all the rage the racial stuff subsided.
In 84 when my brother and I visited China by ourselves we got off the plane to soldiers and rifles (routine of course) and in town my relatives feared for our safety because I am from the Renegade Province and because my father was a liaison officer for the U.S. military very higher ups. The only time I had a fight in school was with a Mexican kid.
I get it and from all sides but I'm seeking to understand. Hate is irrespective of color. People riot and loot because their team lost. The villager don't like the villagers down the ways... on and on... The only time I've seen harmony was the second church I attended. Jewish Pastor with a multicultural bunch in a black neighborhood.
I currently don't own a firearm but from those that do I've encountered and seen on TV it seems like a responsible bunch or regular gun owners out protecting their own lives and property and this from the Gov if push comes to shove. No peaceful protester would fear or have a problem with the millions and millions of gun owners who wouldn't hesitate to shoot someone being attacked and I hope you too would go to the aid of someone who was in harms way.
That being said I thought the two videos from a black's counterpoint was interesting and as Volvo owners we deal with facts. If FCP was selling a bad part we tell each other about it but we shouldn't pressure each other to condemn the entire company for a few bad parts or potentially a few bad experiences. Lumping all police as bad is as bad as lumping all protesters as anarchist. Deal with the bad police as well as the anarchist and leave other peoples property and persons alone. The black retired police officer working security was shot by a young black and who is protesting in his name? Protest but when it becomes criminal call it for what it is including the police.
