If you find a NA 99 you can probably swap it in and not need software. A random ETM off eBay has about a 20% chance of working

If you swap one over and when you switch the ignition on you should here it buzz as it initiates for a few seconds. As I understand it if you swap one from the same year/model then it should be ok without re-programming.

Strangely, I just pulled on from a 99 S70 NA today. No idea if it is any good of course nor how much to ship to Hawaii. Coincidently that is the only V/S/C70 P80 99- chassis at either yard in a long time! I have no need of it for myself just hate to see stuff like that crushed even if it only ends up as a core. Cost me $45 CDN about $35 US.

Venmo is a pay app. Just need your email and it will deposit right into your bank account if I send you money. All you gotta do is install the app from Google Play or just search it.

Good news from Hawaii! ETM arrived safe and sound and now fitted! Success. Car is apparently running great! Now on to other issues for the owner! Glad this worked better than the 20% EBay success level Abscate mentioned.
