Oil Pan Job... How bad?

This is the kit I got:

Says OEM, though the kit is from Victor Reinz. And I wasn't really suggesting that I was going to re-use the old one. I have a replacement that is the same size, but slightly less wide looking from the side. I guess the old was just a bit squished from all the years and service.

Yea, I was mainly just trying to confirm the number of o-rings as to make sure I didn't miss any!

-Dipstick Tube - Check
-Oil Pickup Tube - Check
-Small pan hole - Check
-Larger pan hole - Check

Is that it?

I don't have replacements for the oil cooler where it mates to the pan, but those are easily accessible anytime.

Good enough to close up the pan but replace the cooler o rings before firing it up.

Alrighty, do you think a tiny dab of the pink sealant I got would hold the o-rings in place? Or do I need to steal the family car to run to AutoZone for something else?

The pink sealant is better suited for machined flat gasket surfaces (metal/metal).
A little vaseline will do fine. Try it and see if the oring stays up there. Don't get it where you will be putting the pink stuff.
Just massage it on the o ring and then stick it up- If it holds then you are golden
Technically they need nothing but them being upside down is a challenge.

If you use Hylomar be forewarned . Permatex is only offering racing formla hylomar inthe US. It contains acetone (swells Buna o rings) so put it on lighty and give the acetone a chance to evaporate. Test it on your old ring - if it swells it before evaporating the acetone then don't use it.

I'll try the Vaseline trick and see how that goes.

I still need to practice getting the pan up where it should be. My first try was unsuccessful. Seems to be catching again in the same place I had trouble with. I wonder if overnight it all started to sag down again.

And I will definitely be taking your advice on the rings issue. I don't think any auto place will sell those specific oil cooler rings, so I'll be waiting until tomorrow to go to the dealer and get them there. I'm a little terrified at the cost, considering IPD's price for one was about $8.

Gonna do it once.. so I'm gonna do it right!

Jack it up and space out the engine mount so its easy to put the pan on and off.
An extra few minutes spent making it easy will drastically change the end result and your level of satisfaction.
Remember the other two bolts I mentioned(39 and something). You can lift the entire engine assembly up a few more inches just by disconnecting them and jacking.

Please take a few pics of what you had to do to make it easy. It will help others.

I think this is important! I just found 2 more o-rings!

If you take off the bolt holding the pipe that goes from one of the oil cooler holes to the oil filter, there are 2 more little o-rings in there. One of them was a direct match to an extra replacement I had, and the other was a tad less wide and a bit larger, but a new one still fit:
