Learned a stupid P2 trick today
Center console
The right hand button releases the top, cover
The left button releases the cover and drink holder together to allow access to the bin
Ergonomically it's backwards but that's the Swedes for you.
What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?

I just went out to check. Fascinating discovery. How is it ergonomically backwards?

Driver won’t use the cup holder - too far back

One XC90 back on the road. Started a week ago with my sibling lodging one of several typical complaints I've become accustomed to over the years: "The car started clunking a week or so ago, can you take a look at it? I'm afraid to drive it."
Replaced with a rebuilt OE shaft from Detroit Axle. Loose needle bearings mixed in with the grease and dirt. Outer is still good. I'll pack rat it away in the basement. One does not simply walk into Mordor and throw a good (outer) OE CV joint into the fire.

Got a full tank of gas in my car/S60 for doing it. It was nearing empty.
On RH side with AWD I discovered it's far faster/easier to remove the wheel speed sensor and top strut bolt. Loosen, but do not remove the bottom strut bolt. The brake hose is just long enough allowing the hub to pivot out just enough to change that right side axle shaft without the trouble of disconnecting the ball joint or removing the brake caliper. I was having trouble getting the ball joint to release it's grip on the LCA out the cold. So I put my thinking cap on and came up with plan B. I was out there for about 3 hours. Had I approached it that way from the beginning it would have taken about 25 minutes including getting the front end up on stands and taking the wheel off. Neither strut bolt/hole is slotted like it is on my S60. So no concerns with messing up the camber/wheel alignment doing it that way.

How much was the rebuilt axle? No core involved?

Changed H11 low beam, passenger side, in < 0.5 hrs. without cutting myself. As suggested in another thread, a telescoping inspection mirror was essential kit.
Also, changed engine air cleaner filter. Not wild about the P2 airbox redesign. It was impossible to reseat the box lid without shaving the aftermost side (closest to the windshield) of the rubber seal down about 1/8 in. with an xacto knife (wife's idea).
Imagine my horror when noting the Volvo stamp and 12/05 date on the filter. Yep, that's right, air filter had never been changed which I found odd for somebody who obsessively changed the oil every 3K miles and faithfully rotated the tires. Go figure. Wondering if my gas mileage will improve.

Ouch. Well, if the throttle body is clean, no harm.
The P2 air filter is tight, indeed
