I have had good success with contact cement for these type mounts on this fiber board. Clean the old glue by scraping. Apply contact cement to both surfaces and wait until tacky. If it is no longer tacky because you had too many surfaces to apply contact cement, then reactivate the cement with acetone.
A primer coat of thin contact cement may be helpful if the fiber board soaks up the cement.
Clean up excess with acetone.

Having done this several times, I use JB Weld Plastic epoxy or Marine GOOP for the plastic pieces to the card and use clamps and pieces of thick cardboard on the outer faces of the panels to prevent the clamps marking and leaving an indent.
For the panel to panel sections, I use PL XL? construction adhesive and again using either clamps or just a weight on the inner part laying the whole panel face down.
So far none have come apart and the longest being 10 years.
Don't go too hard on the previous owner other than for not keeping the parts. One of the most important is a piece that looks like a coffin or T-piece in white that sits at the top rear edge of the panel and sits in a slot in the metal ridge on the top of the door panel. It takes the weight of the door panel and heavy elbows to prevent straining the other mounts.
Neil.

Finally took 5 minutes to quiet down the rattle-y tailgate on her 855 over the weekend. It always bugged me when I drove it, and I noticed that the striker had very little, to no bushing on it. The Tailgate would lift ever-so-slightly, and thus the rattle.
5 minutes and a short piece of black nylon tubing with a slit cut in it later (Like the fuel and vacuum tubing) and there is no more rattle.
It's amazing how often the little, simple things just get overlooked in the sea of everything else that needs to be done.

Silconed sprayed the sunroof tracks on the Silver Kat (S70 AWD) which nicely restored sunroof function.
Will order a cheap small bottle for the car in case it sticks on the road.
I used the same spray to lube the birdfeeder poles and now can watch squirrels unsuccessfully try to climb it, and slide back down frustrated. Its a hoot!

There’s a squirrel Olympics series on YouTube, if I recall correctly. I’d definitely watch!
This week, I changed the oil in Blue Steel and used the LiquiMoly anti-friction additive (which I could almost swear quieted the engine noticeably). Then I broke one side of the air guide (splash guard) once again. The fun never ends!

Used Elizabeth to chase parts for Juliette brake job.
Got stuck as the pad thickness is too big for caliper. Wrong part?

When I struck a curb earlier this week and broke my air guide / splash guard, I apparently also broke my radiator mounts. Today, driving home from the train station, I heard a dragging that turned out to be the radiator, which is now bent but still somewhat intact.

Ooof! That happened to my cousin's V70 before he bought it. The intercooler had been totally worn through on the bottom from it hanging after the previous owner had hit something. By some miracle, the radiator held coolant even after taking on similar damage.

Weird, I have the driver's side radiator mount broken on my S70 and its a few inches low, but otherwise seems to hold. It was getting 100 miles a day until I hit the deer a week ago (radiator was prior to the deer hit).brunocerous wrote: ↑08 Mar 2024, 21:22 When I struck a curb earlier this week and broke my air guide / splash guard, I apparently also broke my radiator mounts.
