I put a new side view mirror on the right side today. It all went well until I took the ruby red cover off the old broken one, went to stick it on the new one, and only then realized the new one is about twice as big! I think maybe it came from an XC. So now I have a small red mirror and a big black one. To make it worse, I like how much more I can see in the big one. I now have to buy another big black one for the driver's side or buy a small red one for the passenger side. Either way I am buying two of them to fix one

Decided to cut a hole in the cover of my BCM 8671224. I’m going to flow solder into the push pin connections in the circuit board. It’s $500 to repair my module vs $550 to purchase a replacement module at xemodex , so essential a $50 gamble. About once every three months it all works w/ no warning lights, Leading me to believe the circuitry is all good. I still need to get the proper flux and solder. I think I diagnosed my cold start misfire as possibly a bad temperature sensor? First thing this morning with frost on the car vida read 40°C engine temperature.

Had an extra remote key programmed and key cut at Total Auto Tech in San Jose. Very knowledgeable and friendly guys who specialize in o.a Volvo.
I purchased the key and blank on AMAZON:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0089KNR8A..._190tEbEN3PAJ9
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I1MQXL4..._oY0tEbF5XTYS3
They programmed the key and cut the blank, the dealer wanted $550.
If you have Vida and a Dice they can program the key remote for you.
They offer module transfer services and repair as well.
search for Yagger on this forum.
I have no business interest in there company just a very happy customer and will be back.
Remote and key work flawless.

We had a GRANDbaby on Saturday! She's so so sweet.
Betty the Volvo did nothing as we were all very busy and nobody slept.
Virtual cigars all around!

That's awfully shiny to be putting on the underside of a car, in Minnesota. What would Garrison Keillor say about being so flashy? What will your neighbors think? Pretty soon you'll be taking fancy vacations to get away in the winter....

SS!
Neighbors are about 1/4 mile away & he's got far louder things than do I
Edit: if he does hear it, he’ll probably wonder what that strange auditory feeling was he experienced. An ear orgasm!
Picked my 4 year old up from school today & she wanted to drive with the windows down @ 21 degrees so she could “hear it better”.
When my wife says she wants to go somewhere warm in the winter, I suggest we go sit in front of the wood stove.
