I have to take out the blower motor. Rookie mistake for not checking codes before putting everything back together.
Scan shows ecc-433 too high current for the blower motor.
There’s always something to work on, right?
Edit: added picture
Edit 2: it seized up, as it’s really hard to get it to spin.
Back to the junkyard it is. Too bad it’s Sunday.
What did you do to your Volvo today? Topic is solved

That's a super clean junkyard, but in my experience paved yards are not that great. Main reason being that oil and liquids don't drain into the gravel or dirt, so then you have to be rolling around in it if you need to get under a car. Same goes for broken glass and other hazards that gravel can buffer against. I've had bolts go through my shoes at paved yards that gravel would have prevented.

Late update but basically yeah.
Looks like one lug bolt cracked and stretched which let the other bolts loosen up until a mix of coming out, snapping, and breaking threads happened.
2 of the holes now have enough damage that I can't get a bolt or tap in. Looks like the first 2 or 3 threads got mangled.
I see three options, let me know which makes the most sense and which is best.
1) change the hub. Most obvious but dependent on finding someone breaking/parting out a car. Would also probably end up with a lot of "might as well" like cv boots, bearings, bushings etc.
2) fix the threads? Not sure how good an idea that would be.
3) convert to studs. I think machining it out to use wheel studs might work?

That’s a combined wheel bearing hub amd costs about $100 usd new, not a bad repair

Replace the hub, very straightforward repair. Plenty of vendors on Amazon and eBay selling hubs made in the various Asiatic markets, much better idea than chasing a used hub from a yard. Wheel bolts from a yard are fine; a torque wrench is a critical piece of equipment here.RedBrickCollector wrote: ↑11 Jun 2025, 01:38 Happened while my brother borrowed the car
Still processing. Looks like snapped lugs. Explanations as well as what to check for damage would be appreciated

Wow, never heard or seen any Volvo wheel lug-bolts breaking unless they were over torqued, or possibly some knock-off aftermarket items.
That is really bad luck. I would agree with the guys on this. A new wheel hub and lug-bolts. If you can find SKF wheel hubs or FAG that would be ideal. Can't speak to other manufacturers. You may have other supplier brands in your part of the world that can supply the part and have a known good quality.
Again, thinking more on this, Volvo wheels are located on the center of the hub which should reduce the chances of over stressing the lug bolts.
Good Luck with the fix!
Neil.

Thanks, I can't rule out that the lugs on were no longer the originals. Got a whole set (and a couple extra) 35mm H&R bolts. Could it also be that the Thor wheels I changed to needed longer bolts?
Could you name a few of the asiatic makes and a quick opinion of them? Ironic for someone asiatic, I can't find any of them. I'll have to go look specifically for them by brand.
I'm looking into ordering a wheel hub but find myself falling victim to the might-as-wells.
As in might as well replace the CV boots, and if I'm already there I might as well replace the control arms, and now I have no idea how many lbs of shipping that would be and if that's within my budget anytime soon versus just the bearings.

Yes. I carry one in each of mine. I think one of Robert's early videos mentions it too.
