Trig calcs can be confusing if you don't do them often.

Is that short for trigonometry? I was terrible at complicated math outside of algebra one. I avoided pre-calculus. Trigonometry was the only other math option. I was not great. It's possible that I might have a few pieces longer than they should be. Of course that's better than being too short. Those two central beams are what I'm worried about right now though. I need to make sure they're long enough, because I am inserting them into the 7.75 inch space where the seats would mount on either side of the exhaust tunnel.

Update

The tongue welding might be delayed. I have to figure out if I need more metal. I cut 1st of two central beams at 44.25" but 2nd of two at 41.5". I have a small extra length of the same steel so maybe I can add that on by welding it? If I can't weld extra on, I have to buy an entire new 20'. I don't have the money for that.

I also rewrote the measurement notes. I feel like i'm missing something. Not all of this is on the pavement.

Yup. Trig is short for trigonometry. Without trig, getting the angle part lengths right will be hard. A good, accurate scale drawing with a sharp drawing tool could work for lengths.

Yes, I had realized that I would need my angle tool to figure out what the angle is, and I think it's somewhere about 35 degrees, not sure. And that's from the one inch of rail sticking out from underneath. I have to go back and check that.

I just figured out something. To think that I literally made a Facebook marketplace in search of a refrigerator box is a face slap. How could I not think of it earlier when I was thinking about how big a posterboard might be at the store? What is it you might ask? Four poster boards taped together. The tongue blueprint will go on that. That's what I'm gonna do tomorrow. And for the wall blueprint, I'm going to buy six or 8 posterboards. They will both be 1:1. The tongue blueprint on the postboards will allow me to calculate the angle for the two outer beams.
