Luckily I’m in a relatively trivial, low pop county in CA - but our neighbor SF basically said “Don’t go outside unless your life depends on it” - read somewhere there’s 20+ confirmed homeless in SF.. ! I hope as interesting as things get down there, it doesn’t come up here- We’ve got our own local homeless population, too.. Everywhere in CA does these days

I've never had my gas gauge so high, I paid $2.28/gallon for 93 the other night.
See June ? Its a guy thing. Never fill your tank fully in case you see gas cheaper on the way, and aways wait for the little yellow light

Running your tank low is 1 way to see the little yellow light. Another is to have the local mechanic replace a fuel pump and not do a new fuel level sender unit. I'd be willing to do that in a month long quarantine. It's a 2000 AWD, assuming I'd still need to drop the rear suspension to fix........or is it time to cut the flap?

Neil will guide you on that. Summary - if you drop a early AWD platform, you have to deal with a bunch of corroded No-longer-available suspension parts.

I try to avoid letting that light come on, but sometimes it happens. But especially now, it's best to wait for gas to get even cheaper!

Yup, it can be a project, that's for sure. I've been putting it off, I need to drop the rear subframe at some point and replace my fuel pump. I was thinking about cutting the flap, but I'd rather not have a hole in my floor.
There's a way to get one side of the subframe/tank down without totally removing the subframe. The sender is part of the fuel pump assembly on the AWDs, isn't it? There's just a surge pump on the driver side, so I don't think you should need to get to that.

Took out the trash today and seen somebody had thrown away a perfectly good roll of Toilet paper. That is when I knew I was not alone in the world.
