First one was an 03 s60 na 5, guy wanted 1200, talked himself down to 800$ new tires and in great shape, 120k. Needed a couple things, still does. Clogged breather system blew out the cam deal, I pushed it back in with my fingers and not leaking a drop since. Discod the cam cover tube. Had the trans b4 prob when hot I found out, new one helped still need to vida it. - work in prog but a good runner - I do all my own work and could tell the engendering and material quality right off.
Next another 03 s60, 2.4t 120k was 300$ and “for parts” transmission was broke she said, almost perfect silver w black leather upgrade rims, a beauty. Still need to get the title for this one and pay the back tax a few years
That same Sunday scored the v70 xc 240k new Michelin’s only 400$ not running. Originally got the s60 for the wife but she didn’t like it, wanted a wagon. She likes her Jeep Cherokee I built for her. Owner thought it needed at least 2k in just parts just to run. Once I blasted out the 1/4 pound of graphite in the key cylinder that worked again. Removed the etm to find it was already a xemodex, cleaned up the grounds and gave her a good tune up got her running and plugged my comp in, maf at 0. One off the s60 and she runs great. Needs spring seats and some new rubbers soon, first things first is fix the turbo, only getting 5psi max of boost so need to do more tinkering there. Trying to get a vida dice going, a hell of a download for out in the middle of nowhere where We live
Now last just picked up an 06 s60 2.5t. 170k. 500$. Onother case where they were over it. Almost a 10/10 a little old lady car. Brakes need bled at least and a caliper may need work. Couldn’t get my rosstech (vag) to connect, need to get the vida dice going, will try to get it downloaded today. Lpt works great in this one.
Almost scooped up a 08 c30 for 500 and for parts no title, has misfires and electric issues, lots and lots of issues. Basket case rat rod status already. Nice Michelin lowpros n rims, no decent machine shops around.
Best for last there’s a 67 1 something?? 4x4 for 5k on cl right now. Has a Toyota straight axle Frame and engine under the body haha
