What brand of wiperblades do you guys prefer? I'm not a big fan of Valeo blades. They're rather expensive and they wore out a lot faster than the Bosch wipers. If I go further back in my memory, I also tried out SWF blades. They were horrible. They made a lot of sound, too much in my opinion. I also used Coldax and Champion in the past. Quiet for the first three to four months, than they made a lot of noise (and yes, my windows are clean and free of debris). The Bosch ones are pretty good. How good are the Volvo blades?
I wanted to put Bosch blades on but Walmart didn't have them so I grabbed Michelin brand. I've heard Bosch are really good so I'll probably order some of those over the net soon.

Also made the move today to full synthetic high mileage oil. It just seemed that with 162,000 miles it might be a smart thing to do. While at the shop I had them look at the tires because I had two with very slow leaks. Turns out all four needed re-bead sealing.

Great drive through Routes20, 8, 9 in western MA and brought home the really smart one from Smith College. The one who complains she would lose two hour arguments with us. She was 9.

I believe Bosch is the OEM supplier of Volvo branded wiper blades. I liked the Bosch blades I had on before. Not a big fan of the rain-x blades I have on now. Be careful when buying Bosch wiper blades, get the ones made in Europe, not China. The Chinese ones wear out in about 6 months because they use cheaper rubber.

Got new tie rods installed. Wow, the drive is so much better now. No longer feel like a boat captain.

Did you go with any particular maker of tie-rods? Just wondering, they are in my future this spring...
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

I used Meyle tie rods on my GLT, both inner and outer. So far so good, I’ve had them on there for about a year and a half.

I have no idea, I did not ask. It was cheap and the weather was cold, so I went with it. He got the parts that morning and had it done by 3pm, so whatever was available locally. My best guess is they are Duralast after doing a quick online search based on price.

I was going to go with the TRW kit from FCP, but the price he offered was good and meant I didn't have to do it over my holiday.

Also learned I have an SMI rack despite the number plate lacking the 8th digit (which I thought defaulted me to a TRW rack).
