Discovered a oil spot under my car last night so back to the shop... Definitely engine oil so we shall see what's wrong hopefully tomorrow! June

Got the new spark plug, fitted it, rechecked torque setings on all plugs, and I still have the misfire. I presume leads are the next stop before checking the coil? Rotor arm and dizzy are less than 8 months old, genuine parts used for both.

I'd definitely recommend replacing wires first. Make sure you use Bougicord brand wires, they are highly recommended around here.

I should say that the car was not misfiring before changing the plugs. Would this change my approach at all? Could be a duff plug I suppose.

I should say that the car was not misfiring before changing the plugs. Would this change my approach at all? Could be a duff plug I suppose.

Check that all the wires are seated properly on the plugs and make sure 2 wires didn't get switched. It's possible the wires were so worn that one broke when you pulled it off the old plug.

That settles it. If I win the lottery I'm opening Volvo dealer in the South Bend IN area (contingent of course on VCNA liking me enough allow the franchise agreement).

Not so much what I did to my Volvo, more like what my Volvo did to somebody: A friend of mine, He's sold. He's rode in my S60 a few times decided he wants, or seriously wants to look at XC60s in the MY2015-2017 range. He buys CPOs, drives them a year or two then trades in for something else.

He's stated he yet to be really happy with any car he's owned recently. Volvo was never on his radar until I bought mine. No dealer in the area, and somewhat rare to be seen driving around this area new or old.

However he has stated a 'probably legitimate' concern: Living in Mishawaka IN, if the car has to go in for service the nearest Volvo dealers are 80-100 miles in any direction.

He's picky. He's stuck on a white one pretty fully loaded. Which probably means he's more likely to find one that suits his fancy at one of the numerous dealers in the Chicago area rather than Fort Wayne, Kalamazoo, or Indy.

Tell him to go for a 2019. Volvo has really fine tuned a few things such as the bending headlights are back as a option (they really make a difference!) and the ability to stop the aggravating autostart permanently. The 2.0 is quieter and runs smoother. Likely a change in the engine mounts and sound insulation. So far I have driven the 2019 S60, XC90, and the XC60. I have of course driven those models in all of the previous years all as service loaners and hands down the 2019 in all models I have driven are much better than 2018 and back with drive e. Of course I prefer the 5 and 6 cylinder engines of the past, but 2.0 T5 FWD and T6 AWD are very acceptable alternatives. T5 AWD is just strained in the XC lineup making it feel underpowered.

What really sells a Volvo the most is when friends and family see you step out of a mangled wreck unhurt. This has happened to me twice and one time my best friend was in the passenger seat untouched as well amazed that my sedan felt like it bumped a cushion when in reality we were hit head on by a full sized Ford SUV on a two land highway at highway speed. That now is a Volvo only family and has been since 1998. Show him the photo of the Camero vs XC90 head on and the old lady stepped out while the occupants of the Chevrolet died on impact. I'll attach those photos. It is really import to keep your family as safe as possible in my opinion. So if he becomes a convert let him know he is buying the safest car in the business!

If you can open a dealership I believe now is the time! Just look at the sales numbers, not to mention the beautiful designs over the last couple years. June

Oh my car went in yesterday and I am driving the 2019 S60 currently. Definitely not me, but most of you out there will love this car's light nimble feeling on the road!
